Launch of WPC Youth Connect The 20th World Petroleum Congress is proud to announce the launch of its new online discussion forum - WPC Youth Connect (WPCYC) at www.wpcyouthconnect.com. This forum will serve as a platform to promote online debate and comment with youth. Call for Projects - Final Call The 20th WPC Organizing Committee would like to remind companies that there are only a few days left to submit projects for the Social Responsibility Global Village (SRGV). Projects must highlight the contribution of the petroleum industry to human development at the local level. Examples of this might include community capacity building initiatives, infrastructure programmes that benefit the community, or local health and education programmes / initiatives. | Maria van der Hoeven Confirmed as Plenary Speaker Maria van der Hoeven, the next Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) has confirmed that she will be joining OPEC Secretary General Abdulla Salem El-Badri in the traditional IEA-OPEC Dialogue in a high level plenary session taking place on the Wednesday during the 20th World Petroleum Congress. 20th WPC promoted at the Moscow International Oil and Gas Exhibition (MIOGE) - from 21-24 June 2011 As part of its extensive global promotional campaign, the Qatar Organizing Committee for the 20th WPC exhibited at MIOGE, the largest Russian oil and gas exhibition and one of the largest such events in the world. A number of meetings were held with the most important Russian oil and gas companies to introduce the 20th WPC, including Rosneft, Gazprom, Lukoil and Transneft who will all be exhibiting in Doha. The participation of Russian companies at the 20th WPC promises to be active, as Moscow recently won the rights to organize the 21st WPC in 2014. Read more. |  |
