Petrobras joy at Brigadeiro
Petrobras reported finding hydrocarbons at its Brigadeiro prospect in the deepwater Espírito Santos Basin offshore Brazil.

Coastal's Bua Ban trend extends
Coastal Energy said its latest Bua Ban well had unexpected results after it encountered 69ft of net pay, thereby extending the Miocene trend at the field.

Subsea Siri fix
DONG Energy and Subsea 7 signed a $220million call-off contract for work in the Siri Caisson Permanent Support project in the North Sea, although license partner Noreco is not onboard with the plan.



MWCC capping stack goes deeper
A capping stack and interim spill response system developed by the Marine Well Containment Company now meets requirements for deployment in water depths of up to 10,000ft.

Subsea 7 gets Kumang gig
Petronas Carigali awarded Subsea 7 the contract for transportation and installation work in the Kumang Cluster project offshore Malaysia.


Valemon to move ahead
The Norwegian parliament approved Statoil's development and operation plan for the Valemon field in the North Sea.


Shell OKs Cardamom
AShell approved a multi-billion dollar investment to develop the Cardamom field in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.


Seadrill orders 7th semi-tender
Seadrill has tapped Keppel FELS to build a new semi-tender for delivery in 2Q 2013. Keppel FELS said on 9 June 2011 the semi-submersible self-erecting tender rig would cost US$142 million.

Blue Tarpon launched
Baker Hughes hosted tours on 9 June 2011 of the fracturing and stimulation vessel Blue Tarpon, which will work in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.


Saipem wins new contracts
Saipem won new offshore engineering and construction contracts in Egypt, the North Sea and Russia, worth a total of $1 billion.


Petrobras ups Tiro, Sídon output
Petrobras' output at the Southern Pole in the Santos Basin, containing the Tiro and Sídon area, has increased production from 17,000b/d to 25,000b/d.


Keppel bags Floatel contract
Keppel FELS clinched a US$260 million turnkey contract from Floatel to build a new generation accommodation semi.
