SMITH PDC bit wear

SMITH PDC bit wear

A strange situation on Caspian Region where we do not have a pretty hard and abrasive formations, faced with pdc blades wear which is not suitable to our drilling procedures. We run 12 1/4" Smith pdc (5 blades MDSi519) and drilled 772m with ROP-7m/h. By our experience we suppose to drill at least 3x772m=2200m with this bit. After that we run tricone smith bit and our ROP dropped to 2m/h. Can anyone tell what was the problem and how to enhance performance in bit selection to get expected approx 15-20m/h?
